The Town of Queen Creek’s budget serves as a spending plan and communication tool. The incorporates projected revenues and expenses to develop a financial plan for the fiscal year that begins July 1. The proposed budget, available for review on the Town’s website, will be considered by the Town Council at the May 7 meeting for tentative approval, with the final approval scheduled for the May 21 Town Council meeting.
Arizona law requires that all municipalities adopt an annual, balanced budget. The Fiscal Year 2025-26 budget totals $682.7 million, a 6% decrease from the FY2024-25 budget. More than 50% of the budget is for infrastructure investments, including $119.1 million to continue progress related to transportation improvements.
The Town Council considers the Town Manager’s recommended budget and ultimately adopts a final budget for the fiscal year. The next steps for the Town’s budget include:
- May 7– Town Council meeting: Town Council considers and votes on the Tentative Budget (the expenditure ceiling)
- May 21 – Town Council meeting: Town Council votes on Final Budget (all programs and services) after public hearing
- June 4 – Town Council meeting: The Town Council adopts the property tax levy (set at the rate to maintain the property tax freeze previously approved by Council)
- July 1 – The 2025-26 fiscal year begins, and the approved budget goes into effect
