Start building your box car and mark your calendar for Friday, April 4 for the Town’s free Cardboard Box Car “Drive-in” Movie! In honor of Earth Month, the Town’s Environmental Services Division will host the Wild Robot at Founders’ Park. The event is free to attend; free popcorn and water will be served starting at 6:30 p.m. (while supplies last). The movie will begin at sunset (approximately 7:15 p.m.).
The Wild Robot, an intelligent robot, is stranded on an uninhabited island. To survive the harsh surroundings, she bonds with the native animals and cares for an orphaned baby goose.
Residents are encouraged to bring “box cars” made from cardboard and other recyclable materials. Event details, cardboard box car tips, and a link to register for the event can be found at QueenCreekAZ.gov/BoxCarMovie.
Additional resources to celebrate Earth Day every day in April — including an Earth Month calendar, Queen Creek trails scavenger hunt, a free drive-through recycling event, online games, QC and free landscape watering workshops — can be found at QueenCreekAZ.gov/EarthMonth.
Residents are encouraged to use the hashtag #QCEarthMonth as they post their Earth Month activities on social media.
