2026 K-12 Water Conservation Art Contest Now Open

Submissions are now being accepted for the 2026 Water Conservation Art Contest hosted by the Town of Queen Creek! K–12 students living in or attending school in the Town’s water service area may submit their artwork now through March 25, 2026 for a chance to win a gift card and have their artwork displayed in the Queen Creek Library lobby during Earth Month this April.

The contest prompt asks: How can you reduce your water use? The Town offers a variety of water-saving ideas at QueenCreekAZ.gov/ReduceTheUse.

Students must submit two-dimensional artwork on 8.5×11-inch paper along with a completed submission form to the Municipal Services Building (22358 S. Ellsworth Road, Queen Creek, AZ 85142). The Downtown Arts and Placemaking Advisory Subcommittee will judge artwork based on originality, creativity, and how well it addresses the contest prompt.

Accepted mediums include drawing, painting, mixed media, digital art, and photography. Students whose entries are selected for display during Earth Month will be invited to a special reception to enjoy light refreshments and see their art showcased. Top winners will also receive water conservation prize packs from the Town.

The Town of Queen Creek is committed to water self-sufficiency. The Town has been working for nearly 10 years implementing a strategic vision for the Town’s water future, creating a more diversified water supply. In 2025, the Town secured water from Harquahala Valley, transitioning away from local groundwater pumping and replenishment obligations through Central Arizona Groundwater Replenishment District (CAGRD). This additional water will make 90% of the Town’s water supply insulated from water cuts and drought conditions.
