Entrepreneurs, startups, and established business owners looking to strengthen their business foundation are invited to participate in the Start Smart Grow Smart program, a no-cost, five-week business development series presented by the Maricopa County Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and hosted by the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce.
The series will take place every Tuesday from August 4 through September 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce. Designed as an accelerated journey for entrepreneurs and small business owners, the program provides practical tools, expert guidance, and one-on-one business counseling to help participants turn their business goals into reality.
“Whether you’re considering launching a new venture or looking to take your existing business to the next level, Start Smart Grow Smart provides valuable insight, resources, and support at no cost,” said Chris Clark, President and CEO for the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce. “Participants will walk away with actionable strategies and a stronger understanding of what it takes to build and sustain a successful business.”
Throughout the five-week series, participants will explore key topics including:
Business Planning and Entrepreneurship
- Evaluating business ideas and opportunities
- Understanding the rewards and challenges of entrepreneurship
- Conducting effective market research
- Creating and utilizing a business plan as a roadmap for success
Marketing, Pricing, and Sales Strategies
- Identifying and reaching target markets
- Differentiating products and services from competitors
- Developing effective pricing strategies
- Learning outreach and sales techniques that drive growth
Financial Management and Funding
- Bookkeeping fundamentals and financial organization
- Understanding cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheets
- Creating financial projections
- Exploring funding options and preparing to speak with lenders and investors
Operations, Management, and Legal Considerations
- Hiring, training, and managing employees
- Managing time, resources, and business information
- Understanding contracts and agreements
- Choosing the right legal structure and complying with regulations
- Building an advisory board and creating a growth roadmap
Participants will also gain access to valuable business resources and tools available through the SBDC, including guidance from experienced business counselors and templates available through the DreamBuilder platform.
