Queen Creek residents are invited to share their vision for the Town’s future through the 2028 General Plan Update.
The General Plan serves as Queen Creek’s long-range guide for growth and development over the next decade. It establishes goals, policies and actions that help guide Town decisions on elements including land use, housing, growth areas, transportation/circulation, recreation, parks and open space, environmental, water, economic development, cost of development, and public safety. The General Plan brings these topics together into a coordinated framework for Queen Creek’s future.
Residents can participate and share feedback throughout the process. Two online activities are currently available for participants to describe their vision for Queen Creek and identify specific places they cherish, areas that present challenges or locations that may offer future opportunities.
“Queen Creek’s General Plan reflects the kind of community residents envision,” Queen Creek Mayor Julia Wheatley said. “This is an opportunity to share what matters most and help shape a plan that will guide our community’s future. I hope you will find the time to share your perspectives and be part of this collaborative process.”
Arizona communities with more than 2,500 residents are required by state law to update their general plans every 10 years to reflect current conditions and community priorities. Queen Creek’s current General Plan was approved by voters in 2018. Once the updated plan has been developed, it will be presented to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a recommendation and to the Town Council for consideration before going to Queen Creek voters for approval.
Additional ways to participate online and in person will be available throughout the process. Workshop dates, times and locations will be announced as they are confirmed.
