Livewell Animal Hospital has officially opened in Queen Creek, expanding local access to full-service veterinary care with a strong focus on flexibility, comfort, and the human–animal bond. The hospital is located in the Safeway Plaza at the southwest corner of Riggs and Rittenhouse.
Founded by Dr. Sherrod Hart, Livewell Animal Hospital is rooted in the community it serves. Dr. Hart was born and raised in Arizona and has returned to practice in the area he calls home, bringing both clinical expertise and a personal investment in serving local families and their pets.
“What we offer is an extension of your family that focuses on the bond between people and their pets,” Hospital Manager Ashley Prince said. “we really have all the bells and whistles, but I think really just being flexible and knowing that your pet doesn’t get sick a week ago, sometimes you just need to come in that day, and we just want to be flexible and work with each client for what they need”
Livewell Animal Hospital offers a wide range of services, including surgery, dentistry, radiographic imaging, ultrasound, and in-house diagnostics. Preventative care and parasite management are also central to the practice, along with walk-in and same-day availability when possible to help accommodate unexpected needs.
While not a 24-hour emergency facility, the hospital is equipped to stabilize urgent cases during operating hours and coordinate referrals when advanced emergency care is required. The clinic is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A defining feature of the hospital is its intentional focus on comfort and reducing stress during visits. A dedicated comfort room provides a quieter setting designed to support families during sensitive discussions and care decisions.
“We have a comfort room designed to feel a little bit more homey and to help learners and patients feel a little bit more comfortable when that difficult decision is made,” Dr. Hart said. “different treats in there, and different lighting, just an environment there to help you feel more at peace.”
The facility also includes a cat-only exam room designed to reduce stress through separation from dogs, calming pheromones, and a quieter environment. A separate isolation room is used for contagious cases and connects directly to treatment areas to support safe, efficient care.
Ashley Prince shared, “I’ve been in the field for 26 years, and I am extremely passionate just about taking care of humans and their pets, not pets and they’re humans, because the reality is having that relationship with your human is just as important as making sure and taking care of their pet. You have to have the trust both ways.”
More than anything, the practice is grounded in personal relationships and a deep respect for the Queen Creek community. Dr. Hart says, “Growing up in North Queen Creek, we’ve always been involved with the community, so it’s kind of nice to be able to work with people that I’ve known for a long time, and also to help give back to the community that has given me so much.”
Their focus remains simple: to provide thoughtful, dependable care that meets pets and their families where they are, whether it’s a routine visit, a sudden concern, or an important life decision.
